2009 Oscar Fashion Verdict Part 2
February 24, 2009And so we continue our Fashion Verdict Special …
Brattyneelah and Moeru Hime continues to tell us what they like and they don’t like even if they really don’t know who the dress designers are (most of the times) and their fashion taste are limited to Goth Punk and Japanese Lolita …
MH (Moeru Hime): I don’t get all that action at her chest area … are those waves? Are those feathers? What’s with all those tralala?
BN (Brattyneelah): I dunno … it’s kind of cute. Nicole Kidman looks better in color though (though I hate color other than black).
VERDICT: Not her best.
MH: Pretty pretty color … pretty pretty dress … pretty pretty lady. I’d definitely wear this dress even if it doesn’t have puffy skirt and ruffles on it.
BH: You and your obsession on anything Pink and Lavander. I don’t like this one. It’s plain and her make-up and up-do makes her look old — older than mom.
VERDICT: Something fresh next time.
MH: What is that?! A walking vegetable? Change dress quickly … everything else is fine … just change the dress.
BN: Heada Lettuce (from Project Runway 5) would love this dress. What surprised me, though, is the kid’s chest area. She ain’t a kid anymore.
VERDICT: Appetizer she is — but not for the main course.
MH: Dare? Who is this? A new starlet? The mermaid dress is so 80s.
BN: Melissa George … no, I don’t know her either. The whole ensemble is nothing new. But it isn’t a classic either.
VERTIGO: Drowning …
MH: I don’t know … it seems so busy. However, Marissa Tomei will always look fabulous.
BN: That trail rocks. That dress isn’t just a dress. It’s a work of art. The details are superb and intricate.
VERDICT: Picture Perfect.
MH: A ballerina dress on Marion Collitard — not at all good looking … I think if it were a short dress and pink it’ll be …
BN: A Lolita dress instead of an red carpet dress. Doesn’t it look debut-ish dress to you?
VERDICT: Pirouet away!
BN: *Melts at the sight of the dress …* Must have … must have … must have.
MH: It’s dark, it’s weird, it’s avant-garde … definitely Brattyneelah’s alley.
VERDICT: Picasso and Van Goh in one.
BH: Virginia Madsen doesn’t age, does she. And this dress is stunning. Better than Heidi Klums, even if they have a similar cut.
MH: Who’s Virginia Madsen again? I don’t think I know her.
VERDICT: Timeless.
BH: Though, the color suits her color … the cut is seems to emphasize her muscular tone.
MH: So unlady like in a very lady dress … more like tranny like.
VERDICT: Priscilla, Queen of the red carpet Desert.
BH: Ever since the indecisions, Tina Fey has proven to be more than just a comedian/writer. This is what a lady should be like.
MH: Oh … I never knew Sarah Palin was at the Oscars …
VERDICT: Classic Modern Lady
MH: I think Tilda Swinton would look better in a Kodona/Dandi outfit. I don’t like this overly-covered up dress.
BN: Neither do I … but only Tilda Swinton could pull this one off.
VERDICT: Ice Queen forever.
BH: I like this cold steel grey dress on her. It’s a statement …it’s the only way to give the Oscars a cold shoulder without actually giving them a cold shoulder after making her wait for an award. Perfect.
MH: I like her in her Titanic costumes better. I like those Titanic costumes on me, too.
VERDICT: Gold and Grey looks good together.
THE RED CARPET LADIES IN WAITING
Of course everybody walking down the red carpet runway isn’t just there to receive, give away or enjoy the awards night. The working ladies who strut the runway to get interviews have to look as dashing as the people they’re trying to interview, too.
BH: I think they were better dressed than a lot of the stars in the red carpet. Giuliana Rancic and Maria Menounos — I have not seen them make a mistake in the clothing department.
MH: Again, it’s so dark. Why does awards night have to be this dark?
VERDICT: Don’t ever change, both of you.
BH: There’s you color on Samantha Harris and Lissa Rina …
MH: But the other dresses look better. Why can’t I have both.
VERDICT: Samantha Harris - plain goddess. Lissa Rina — you need a stylist better than who you have now.
